Welcome! We're glad you found us. This is a class blog for Women in Performance: Choreographies of Resistance (WMST/DNCE 323) at California State University San Marcos. Throughout the semester we will be focusing on a range of topics with an emphasis on movement and feminism. "[We take on] multiple perspectives of women who have resisted cultural norms to forge new and brave perspectives on the body". This blog will help the students to create an exploration of the course material in relation to real world connections and experiences. The Flip Side

  1. I watched this video on youtube.com, "The Flip Side" and found it disturbingly thought provoking! Great idea to turn the tables on the men-women pick-up bar scene. It was kind of disturbing to see women behaving this way; that is to say, rude and disrespectful towards the men. It made me compare their rudeness to what I have witnessed in the bar scene; and I found it spot-on. I think by parodying the way some men behave by having the women act that way was very eye-opening. I can only hope more men see this, and change their behavior based on this!
